14 Mile Maple Coffee Table
In the summer of 2015, they cut down a tree line on 14 Mile Road next door to a friends farm here in London, Ontario.
Chain saws in hand (and a beer in the fridge for afterwards) we salvaged as much lumber in thick slabs as we could and stacked it properly to let it air dry - very slowly. From there it was kiln dried until the precise moisture level was reached, then it was ready to work with.
The result? The most dramatic, substantial, local + character riddled maple you ever did see.
